The Pegasus School is committed to a community-wide culture of respect, where inclusiveness, kindness, integrity, and empathy are deeply valued. Pegasus embraces a framework which prioritizes the social-emotional wellbeing of our students; one that fosters the continual development of self-awareness, social-awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
During the spring of 2019, the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Administration teams restructured our former Community Values into three principles that best represented the culture of The Pegasus School: Be Kind to Self, Be Kind to Others, Be Kind to Future Self. These Core Values will be emphasized during monthly Community Gatherings, a cross-divisional buddy program, regular instruction, and every interaction within our community.
We hope to teach, emphasize, and celebrate our diverse student body and the relationships we build with one another by utilizing the following strands:
Be Kind to Self
September and October: Self-Awareness
November and December: Self-Management
Be Kind to Others
January and February: Social Awareness
March and April: Relationship Skills
Be Kind to Future Self
May and June: Responsible Decision Making
