Lower School

Welcome to pegasus lower school, where we lay the foundation for academic, social, and emotional success for every child, from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade.
Lower School students are eager to explore the world around them with their newfound reading, writing, and speaking skills. Our interdisciplinary curriculum allows students to dive deep into their studies, make connections across subjects, and build their academic curiosity. Our small class sizes encourage innovative thinking and a growth mindset, which fosters confident learners. Our teachers create a safe environment for students to take risks and discover their unique talents and gifts. Join us and become a part of our vibrant community at Pegasus Lower School.

The Lower School Pathway

Kids running and playing outside
Pre-K and K

With a strong emphasis on confidence and character development, our early elementary curriculum allows children to discover and learn — mostly through play. Responsible citizenship, teamwork, and the promotion of kindness is embedded throughout the curriculum. Our Outdoor Classroom provides a space for children to develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and imagination. Classroom instruction focuses on academic skills, developmental needs, and the social-emotional well-being of each child.

Academic rigor increases incrementally during the elementary years at Pegasus. Students are coached and encouraged to develop independence, confidence, and grit through independent and group projects with the guidance of highly skilled teachers. At Pegasus, we follow our students’ passions and interests as the curriculum unfolds each year. Students extend their knowledge and creativity as they learn concepts and explore their interests under the guidance of our faculty.

Specialty Classes and More

Our curriculum is enriched by specialty classes such as science, music, art, computer science, physical education, Spanish, library, and more. These classes begin in our early childhood program and increase throughout the elementary years. Specialists and homeroom teachers collaborate to demonstrate intersections and connections within academic subjects.
