MacBook Purchase Information

In order to ensure the BYOD Program's success, student devices must meet the following minimum requirements for both hardware and software:

Device: MacBook
Grade Levels: 5–8
Processor: i5 or better
Operating System: Mac 10.13 High Sierra or later
Memory (RAM): 8 GB
Storage Capacity (Hard Drive): 250 GB
Warranty/Maintenance: AppleCare
Accessory: Protective Case, Laptop Bag
Power: Devices should be charged at home and brought to school fully charged. Students, though, should be prepared to bring their own power cords to campus because batteries may not last through the entire school day.

* Please note that our requirements are below those of some area high schools. If you are purchasing a MacBook with the intent of having your child continue with the device into high school, consider visiting the high school’s website to learn about that school’s device requirements.
