CORE Athletics raises the bar on after-school programs, taking your child’s physical education to the next level. This course provides an engaging, hands-on introduction to investing and financial markets. Students will build and manage their own investment portfolios and participate in a friendly, course-long competition designed to teach how financial decisions play out
over time.

Each week, students will review current events and discuss how they affect different assets, then rebalance their portfolios accordingly. The course introduces core concepts such as buying and selling stocks and ETFs, portfolio construction, profit and loss, basic
economic forces, and the role of diversification.

By connecting real-world observations to market movements, students develop an early understanding of how financial markets work and why they matter. The course emphasizes critical thinking, decision-making, and financial literacy in an age-appropriate, supportive environment.

Pegasus Math League is a high-energy, engaging after-school program where students tackle challenging math, learn creative strategies, and enjoy working through problems together. Each week, Mathletes explore puzzles, competition-style problem sets, strategy games, and collaborative challenges that build confidence, perseverance, and flexible thinking—all while having a great time.

Students are exposed to new methods and topics not typically seen in the middle school math curriculum, from clever counting techniques to elegant algebraic ideas. The focus is on learning how to think mathematically, try new approaches, and grow through challenge in a supportive, motivating environment.

In this upcoming session, we will participate in the AreteLabs Math Madness Tournament, featuring weekly rounds against other schools. Competitions provide an exciting opportunity to apply new skills, practice teamwork, and experience the fun of mathematical problem-solving under real-world constraints.

Step into the magical world of brush and ink in this fun, hands-on introduction to traditional Chinese art! Designed for curious beginners, this class invites students to explore Chinese painting and calligraphy while discovering how Chinese artists have used brush and ink to capture seasons, nature, and celebrations for centuries.

Each lesson is inspired by the 24 Solar Terms and traditional Chinese festivals connected to the real-time seasonal dates of that week, making every class timely and meaningful. Sessions begin with a lively introduction to the history and cultural stories behind each theme, followed by hands-on creation of a Chinese watercolor artwork based on that theme, using basic brush techniques, composition, and regular script (kaishu) calligraphy with traditional tools. Every class ends with a finished artwork on Xuan paper or a traditional Xuan paper fan to take home. Perfect for young artists who love culture, creativity, and getting a little inky—no prior experience needed!

TGA Golf is a class for Beginning Golfers to learn the basics. From how to grip the club, to where to stand to swinging the club around their bodies. We start small and practice chip and pitch shots (10-40% swings) and also introduce putting. We build up to ½ swing, L Swing and even get to a full swing by the end of the session. TGA does this in a safe and fun environment for the students so that they want to come back each week. We will also introduce STEM principles related to golf (acceleration, spin and energy transfer) as well as life skills that everyone needs to learn (Respect, Honesty and Leadership).

We’ll focus on building your skills in researching, writing dynamic news stories, and presenting them confidently for the camera. The most exciting part? You’ll be actively involved in producing the weekly Thunder TV Jr. Edition, a special news program just for the Lower School, showcased every Monday! During this process based art class, students will have exciting and engaging opportunities to create art through their own curiosities. Projects such as creating brushes out of natural materials and then painting with mud, building “upcycled” sculptures, and exploring emotions through drawing with lines and colors are just a few examples of what will be offered. Children are economists too! A mix of math and logical reasoning, Economics is the study of choices people make to maximize their happiness. In Discovering Economics, we will learn about the main economic principles through articles from the Economist and other sources, real-life examples, games and team discussions. Students will better understand the world around them, how business is done, and how the economy functions. With this solid foundation, children can apply the same reasoning skills to make better, more informed decisions. Additionally our Stock Simulator allows students to pick which stocks they would like to invest in and see how they perform over the course of the session. We will cover college level topics such as Demand & Supply, Equilibrium, Graphing Shortage/Surplus, Inflation, Interest Rates, the Fed, Shrinkflation, Opportunity Costs, Investment Strategies, Market Types and their main characteristics including the formulas for Calculating Revenue, Profit and Costs.

In this course taught by an Economics PhD with over a decade of experience on Wall Street, students will be introduced to macroeconomics and the financial markets, including equities (stocks), fixed income (bonds), commodities, and alternative investments such as venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds.

Alongside learning how markets function, students will explore a range of careers in business and finance, including consulting, investment banking, trading, and investing. We will discuss what these jobs are really like, the skills and personalities that thrive in each, and how people typically prepare for and enter these fields, while encouraging students to reflect on their own interests and strengths.

The Egghead lab is in full swing this session as we replicate some of history’s greatest inventions! How do compasses know which way is North? Why are helicopters able to lift off the ground? And can we really make our own hovercraft from *checks lab notes*...balloons and CDs? With a huge variety of hands-on take-home experiments, we’ll dive into the science behind what makes these inventions tick. In each session a story will be read by Mrs. Marino. We will then work together to draw their favorite characters from those books. The step-by-step instructions in class will teach the students valuable lessons in how to draw, listen to directions, take their time, and ultimately give them the tools to begin to draw their very own characters. Students will leave the class with a love of picture books, and as confident picture book artists. It is a great course for those who love to draw or for children with perfectionist tendencies. Join Mrs. Gutierrez, 7th grade teacher and escape room enthusiast, for Escape Room Design Lab—your chance to design the ultimate escape adventure! If you love riddles, secret codes, drawing maps, building things, telling stories, or dreaming up clever twists, this class is for you. Artists, writers, builders, puzzle-lovers, and big imaginations are all welcome—no experience needed!

We’ll start with fun mini escape room challenges to explore how puzzles, clues, and stories fit together. Then, as a team, we’ll design our own full escape room from the ground up—creating the story, designing the puzzles, and working backwards to make sure everything fits perfectly. Spring Forward with Strong Early Reading Skills!

Let us ignite your child’s love for reading with our engaging after school program.Your child will participate in an after school program led by Reading Specialist Michelle Carr and Kindergarten teacher Shelly Ward who together have more than 60 years of teaching experience. Designed to spark curiosity and foster a lifelong passion for books, our interactive classes will offer a nurturing environment where young learners can explore the enchanting world of stories. Your child will further develop essential literacy skills before they head into their next grade level in the fall as a result of developing phonics and phonemic awareness, the number one predictor of reading success.

Step into the magical world of brush and ink in this fun, hands-on introduction to traditional Chinese art! Designed for curious beginners, this class invites students to explore Chinese painting and calligraphy while discovering how Chinese artists have used brush and ink to capture seasons, nature, and celebrations for centuries.

Each lesson is inspired by the 24 Solar Terms and traditional Chinese festivals connected to the real-time seasonal dates of that week, making every class timely and meaningful. Sessions begin with a lively introduction to the history and cultural stories behind each theme, followed by hands-on creation of a Chinese watercolor artwork based on that theme, using basic brush techniques, composition, and regular script (kaishu) calligraphy with traditional tools. Every class ends with a finished artwork on Xuan paper or a traditional Xuan paper fan to take home. Perfect for young artists who love culture, creativity, and getting a little inky—no prior experience needed!

Each week focuses on a new (old) feat of engineering, from the Great Pyramids of Giza to the Greek Parthenon to the giant Aqueducts of Ancient Rome.
