Avid Readers Prepare to Compete in the Interscholastic Battle of the Books

The Pegasus School is excited to announce that two Pegasus Battle of the Books teams will be competing in the interscholastic Battle of the Books, to be held on March 26 at St. John's Lutheran School in Orange.

In order to prepare for this extracurricular program, students in fourth and fifth grades read a total of 20 books, beginning last summer. The genres of the books included: biography, realistic fiction, humor, science-fiction, historical fiction, mystery, classic, fantasy, and non-fiction. Each year the competition is hosted at St. John’s Lutheran School, where teams compete in three rounds in the morning. Each round consists of eight questions. The teams with the top four scores advance to the final rounds in the afternoon. Stay tuned for updates!

Pegasus Battle of the Books FInalists

On February 26, 2019, 57 Pegasus students competed in the School's Battle of the Books. The two finalist teams included the BOBtatoes, who placed first, and the Bibbidi-BOBidi-Boo, who placed second.

The Pegasus School is a coed, non-profit, nonsectarian day school in Huntington Beach, California, that serves students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. A Pegasus education equips bright, motivated students to achieve future academic success and make a positive impact on society.
