Student Trash Art Wins “Best Concept” Judges Award
The Trasherchest collaborative artwork submitted by middle school students in Mrs. Goldhamer's Art in the Afternoon elective class won the "Best Concept" judges award in the Muzeo TrashARTists Challenge.

The 2019 TrashARTists Challenge, sponsored by Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center in Anaheim, is a county-wide art contest that promotes zero-waste recycling. Students were invited to turn trash into art. Winners were announced on March 16, 2019, followed by a public exhibition of the winning participants’ artwork, which will be on display through the end of March.
According to the Muzeo website, "the purpose of the Muzeo Trash Artist Challenge is to recognize students’ artistic reuse of trash to promote a message of creative conservation and sustainability."
The Pegasus School is a coed, non-profit, nonsectarian day school in Huntington Beach, California, that serves students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. A Pegasus education equips bright, motivated students to achieve future academic success and make a positive impact on society.
