Brian Cullen, Board chair, announced to the Pegasus community the selection of four new members and one returning to the Board of Trustees—Reynolds Bish, Becky Janda, Michael Mulroy, Matt Parlow and Derrek Ransford.
Each individual has been an active member of a Board Standing Committee and the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Michael Mulroy is returning to the Board after serving five years through 2017.
ReynoldsBish has been a Pegasus parent since 2017, and is the father of two daughters, Mackenzie (Grade 1) and Devon (Pre-K). He has served on the Finance Committee for two years and the Wings to Soar, Roots to Grow Capital Campaign Committee for the past year. His wife, In Soon, has been involved in this year’s Spring Benefit team. Reynolds is the CEO and Director of Kofax Limited, a privately held, leading provider of intelligent automation software.
Becky Janda and her husband Pete have been Pegasus parents since 2011. They have two daughters, Elizabeth (Grade 7) and Katherine (Grade 4). Becky grew up in Houston, Texas and earned an MAT in Education at Trinity University. She worked as an elementary school teacher in Houston, New York City and Los Angeles. Becky has chaired the Spring Benefit, served as PTO Vice President of Events, Room Parent, and PTO Vice President. Becky will serve as PTO President for the 2019-2020 school year.
Michael Mulroy has been a Pegasus parent since 2007 and is the father of Michael, Jr. (Grade 4) and alumna Alden ‘17, who currently attends Corona del Mar High School. Michael previously served on the Board of Trustees from 2013 – 2017, and has served as Chair of the Education Committee and as a member of the Governance Committee and the Finance Committee.
Matt Parlow has been a Pegasus parent since 2016 and is father to Maya (Grade 4) and Hannah (Grade 2). He and his wife, Janie Kim, are classroom chairs for the campaign for the new Science and Technology Center. Matt also serves on the Board's Education Committee. In addition, Matt is the Dean of Chapman University's Dale E. Fowler School of Law.
Derrek Ransford has been a Pegasus parent since 2013. He is the father of three boys: Jonas (Grade 5), Asher (Grade 3), and Myles (Pre-K). Derrek has served on the Finance Committee for several years and has been actively involved with the Budget and Investment Subcommittees. His wife Amy has been active on campus with lost & found, school supplies, and emergency backpacks, and as a room parent. Derrek is a managing director and partner at Pathway Capital Management, an institutional investment management firm focused on private equity.
Trustees who have extended their service on the Board for a second term include: George Cheng, Eric Little, Susan Perkins and Edi Thimons.
Trustees Mark Perlmutter and Michael Wong will end their term as Trustees in June after serving three years on our Board.
In addition, trustee Diem Dang has been appointed Board Vice Chair and Chair Elect effective July 2019 and Board Chair effective July 2020. Diem has served on the Board since 2017 and a member of the Education and Governance Committees. In addition, Diem has chaired the Board’s Brand Advisory Committee.
The Pegasus School is a coed, non-profit, nonsectarian day school in Huntington Beach, California, that serves students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. A Pegasus education equips bright, motivated students to achieve future academic success and make a positive impact on society.
