Robotics Team Prevails with Grit at Tournaments

On November 9, several members from the Pegasus Robotics team competed in two tournaments, the San Diego VEX Middle School Robotics Tournament and the El Camino College Middle School Robotics Tournament in Torrance.
At the San Diego VEX Middle School Robotics Tournament, the Pegasus sixth- and seventh-grade team of Shaurya M., Parker A., Lauren Y. and Sascha P. placed 24th out of 38 teams and was awarded the Sportsmanship Award. The Sportsmanship Award is presented to a team that has earned the respect and admiration of the volunteers and other teams at the event.

The team of Wyatt A., Allison H., Caden C. and Seth W. placed third and moved on to compete in the Semi-Finals. They earned the Build Award, which is presented to a team that has built a well-crafted and constructed robot.

The eighth-grade team of Kainani B., Trevon C., Jaci L. and Max L. finished in 13th place and moved up to compete in the Quarter-Finals.

At the El Camino College Middle School Robotics Tournament, three sixth- and seventh-grade teams placed in the top 20 out of 32 teams:

2nd Place – Isabella L., Kennedi S., Jason H., Caden B. 
12th Place – Finn J., Jacob L., Justin G., Lance Y.
17th Place – Luke S., Brady L., Rohan S., Everett Y.

The eighth-grade team of Noah J., Lauren W., Reese M., Sami L. and Sho O. finished in 10th place and received the Excellence Award, the highest award presented in a Robotics competition. This team will proceed to compete in CA State Championship.
