Pegasus After School Programs include classes that enrich and support students' passions and interests. A variety of classes are offered throughout the school year during three after school sessions: fall, winter, and spring.

Classes for the spring session begin the week of March 23.

Registration will be available March 9. Click here to access the Dismissal Program from your Resource Board in your parent portal and enroll your child in a class.

    Most kids play video games and watch animated movies, but few know how they're made. This beginner class will take students through the process of creating 3D models, animations, and physical simulations. Students will learn the methods and terminology used by professionals. They'll also learn how to bring their 3D models and animations into the real world using Augmented Reality (AR).

    The class will be taught by industry veteran and fellow Pegasus dad Arash Keissami. He has worked as a professional animator and software developer for over 20 years at various companies including Sony and Autodesk. Feel free to email or call Arash if you have any questions.

    Students will learn the basic movements, rules and tactics of this Olympic sport. Fencing develops discipline, concentration and coordination.     Coach Ati Seifi is a nationally highest ranked coach, has a M.A in Physical Education & Sport Science, and over 25 years of competitive fencing training and coaching.

    Superb chess instruction catered to each child's needs at all levels. Playing chess can help increase IQ and teaches children to gain confidence, think deeply, solve problems and develop patience while relating to others. Think critically and logically with an open mind and from many different perspectives to build an empathetic and dynamic voice. Gain confidence to use your voice as a self-advocate and advocate for social justice.

    All students in the class are expected to complete significant out-of-class work in order to prepare for competitive debate tournaments. Some students will be offered the opportunity to compete with the Pegasus Middle School Debate Team.

    Sculpting with clay is a great way to explore colors, shapes, forms, and textures. Oh… and it’s also tons of fun! In this class students will hone their fine motor skills and express themselves by making a different handheld sculpture each week. Lots of different things are created — from animals to bugs to rocketships, and beyond. The sculptures go home each week in a small protective box. There, they can be baked at low temperature (by an adult!) to permanent hardness, at which point they become an awesome plaything and a great keepsake.

The course comes with two books and two CDs, a tuner and other fun songs. These cleverly designed books help children interact with the CDs, which reinforce the lessons learned at school.

    Mr. Michael Karaba has been teaching children of all ages to learn the joy of making music for a lifetime, and has been teaching for over 37 years. He works with many schools in the Orange County area bringing to each the joy of guitar and rhythm.

    An electric guitar or acoustic guitar at home from such stores as Guitar Center, Target, Costco, or Best Buy will help your child but it is not a necessity to have one to sign up your child initially.     Learn how to play Lacrosse! Here is an opportunity for boys & girls of all ages to start learning the game of Lacrosse. South Coast Storm Lacrosse trains top players from all over Orange County, both High School and Youth. This program is designed to be fun along with being productive. We want all the kids involved in our program to eventually want to play lacrosse full-time in the spring. We play games along with implementing drills that will teach how the game is supposed to be played.  Our sport-specific training method was built on the foundation of Applied Functional Science and accommodates any person from any sport or background. Our athletic drills and techniques used in lacrosse can be used in multiple other sports, and many parents have said that their kid is an all-around better athlete after completing this program.

Each session will focus on critical thinking strategies for new math concepts, and in April, students will compete in a national problem-solving math competition administered by Noetic Learning.     The Fit Defense Tiny Tigers program introduces students to martial arts basics in a fun, non-threatening environment.  Students will develop physical skills such as balance, coordination, strength and agility while also developing important social and psychological skills such as respect, discipline, confidence and effort.  Special attention is given to positive peer interactions, bully prevention and self-esteem.  Keep your Tiger off the couch and away from the screen and help them build healthy social and physical habits with Tiny Tigers Karate.     Building your first robot is a snap! Students will be paired up to follow step-by-step instructions to build a robot using a VEX IQ robot kit. The various shaped beams snap together using connector pins which makes it easy for students to build. They will learn how to program the robot to complete autonomous movements as well as program the controller so that they can drive the robot manually. Teamwork is a big part of robotics so students will also take part in unique teamwork challenges and learn strategies on how to collaborate with others.

    The Vocal Singing Class will focus on teaching your child to sing to the music from many best loved songs from Disney as well as other kid’s favorites. This vocal class will teach your child how to use their diaphragm to sing with proper technique and to sing correctly. During each class, we will practice proper posture, vocal warm ups, solfege, dancing, music reading, rhythm training, and intonation which is the art of learning to sing in tune.

    Mr. Michael Karaba has been teaching children of all ages to learn the joy of making music for a lifetime and has been teaching for over 37 years.

    Mr. Karaba works with many schools in the Orange County area to bring to each child the joy of singing musicals and other showtunes together. Your child will learn to sing his or her favorite selections and will help them to build a repertoire towards auditions and solo performances. Your child will receive a vocal exercise book and CD as well.

    Have you ever wondered how to code a website from scratch? In this introductory class, you’ll learn how to create and share the content on your own web pages. After deciding what content you want to share with the world, you’ll learn how to structure and style your pages using HTML and CSS. You’ll also practice valuable programming skills such as debugging and commenting. By the end of the class, you’ll have a personal website that you can publish on the Internet. Previous coding experience welcomed, but not required.

    Do you love baseball? Are you interested in improving your skills while learning a new game? If so, please join Mr. B as he teaches you unique wiffle ball rules that he’s been playing with his friends for 30+ years. Each class will develop and build upon existing skills focusing on pitching, fielding, and hitting. This club will be a great way to get ready for the upcoming spring season, and have some fun playing a sport not normally offered at Pegasus.
