Brian and Teresa Cullen, Alumni Parents
Our family’s journey at The Pegasus School began in 2005 when we walked into Nancy Conklin’s office on a search for the best school for our oldest daughter, Linda, to start Kindergarten. Who would have imagined we would walk out that day with Dr. Hathaway’s lunch?
As all Pegasus families know, volunteering and giving to the school is essential to providing an outstanding educational experience, ensuring diversity, providing professional development for faculty, and maintaining a state-of-the-art campus. Our family became engaged with volunteering early on at Pegasus, with Teri supporting the annual spring benefit committee, serving as a wing-captain for On Golden Wings, and contributing as a Parent Ambassador. Brian joined the facilities committee in 2012, which to his surprise, would lead to joining the Board of Trustees and eventually serving as Board Chair for three years. Serving on the Board of Trustees and as Board Chair brought a lot of joy for Brian. He devoted a great deal of time when the school needed it and was extremely honored, privileged, and fortunate to work alongside so many talented fellow Trustees, Head of School, Jason Lopez, and CFO, Rene Cogan. Although there were some challenging times, Brian thoroughly enjoyed his experience on the Board and considered it one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.
One of the many positive outcomes of being part of the Pegasus community are the friendships that are created, not only for Linda and Jenny but as a family. From the very beginning of our Pegasus journey, we were fortunate to have met wonderful people who will always be part of our lives.
